What is a String Quartet?
It is an ensemble consisting of two violins, a viola and a ‘cello.
Why use a String Quartet?
Because it has a rich and varied sound and can play a wide variety of styles.
What pieces can you play?
We have a very large repertoire of classics, light classics, and popular music from the 30’s up to the Beatles. See section on repertoire.
When do you play during a wedding ceremony?
For half an hour before as the guests arrive, as the bride enters, during the signing of the register and as the couple leave.
Do you play for the drinks reception and /or meal?
Yes we play for either or both of them.
Where do you play? What regions do you cover?
We can play anywhere in the northeast region of England. This includes Northumberland up to the Scottish Borders, Tyne and Wear, County Durham, Clevland and parts of Cumbria. If you aren't sure you fall within these areas contact us for advice.
How much space does the quartet take up?
Approximately 3 metres by 3 metres.
Do you need any special equipment?
No, we bring music stands and our own clip-on lights. We do need four suitable chairs and access to a wall socket.
